Fellowship

Every week, once a month, or once a year – there’s always something going on at St. James to bring us together for fun and fellowship.

Annual Parish Picnic

The people of St. James gather toward the end of each July for an outdoor worship service at a local park followed by a picnic. We choose a date close to July 25, the liturgical feast day of St. James’ – our patron saint, who with his brother John received the nickname “Sons of Thunder.”

Coffee Hour

This is a congregation that loves to eat together! And we love to share our culinary wizardry by providing treats in our Parish Hall after the principal service each Sunday. During the program year, when we worship twice on Sundays, the coffee pot is on between services in our Canterbury Room (along with great conversation.)

Episcobats

Our softball team, the Episcobats, participate in church league softball during the late summer months. The team regularly earns an A for effort. Our cheering section is always the most boisterous in the league, thanks to the Episcofans. Contact Todd Butler.

Lunch Bunch

Fridays, downtown Pullman, just for fun, once a month women gather at a local restaurant. Watch for locations posted in the bulletins.

Men’s Breakfast

The men of St. James meet each Tuesday morning at Tam’s Place in Pullman over breakfast. Come any time between 6:30 to 8.

Moms’ Group

Mothers of young children meet monthly for a variety of fellowship activities, ranging from book discussion to doing craft projects.  Contact Carolyn Ross.

Pancake Dinner

What would Shrove Tuesday be without pancakes? What is Shrove Tuesday? Episcopalians and other liturgical churches recognize the beginning of the 40 days of Lent by clearing away all the leaven and fat. Some traditions have Mardi Gras. We have pancakes. And we burn the old palms from the last Palm Sunday celebration to make a fine ash for use in our Ash Wednesday services for the following day.

Sinners’ Dinners

We sign up in the winter to create a rotation of dinners to incorporate old and new in our homes throughout the early part of the new year. Dinners are held once a month in January, February, and March. You can sign up to host, or just to be a guest. A great way to gather together in a relaxed setting that allows us to know one another better, each of us, as sinners forgiven, redeemed, and loved of God.

Twelfth Night
Celebration

Twelfth Night marks the end of the Christmas holiday season with a festive gathering of food, entertainment and good humor. Contact Claudia Wohlfeil.

Women of St. James

The first Wednesday of the month, women gather for fellowship, lunch, and business. The Women of St. James, formerly the St. James Episcopal Church Women, are the spirit behind our annual Rummage Sale, and as such are responsible for planning the sale, and budgeting and administering the proceeds.
