Ministries
Acolytes. Acolytes assist the clergy and lay ministers at the altar. Altar Guild. Altar guild members help to prepare the altar area for worship each Sunday. Contact Linda Adams. Annual Rummage Sale. Our annual rummage sale, held at Beasley Coliseum, raises money for the various ministries of St. James and contributes financially to people doing good things in the communities of the Palouse. The rummage sale also fulfills our commitment to stewardship of the earth by recycling thousands of pounds of resource each year. Contact Carol Gay, Zuma Lee Staba, Jean Wardwell or Sue Johnson. Community Child Care Center. The Pullman Community Child Care Center uses the church building to offer its daycare programs. The congregation subsidizes rent for the oldest community daycare center in Pullman, which serves the highest percentage of income-eligible families of any in the community. Choir. The choir provides a ministry of music each Sunday during the school year. Contact Elena Panchenko. Eucharistic Visitors. Eucharistic visitors provide communion to those who are unable to leave their homes. Contact Pete Haggart. Episcopal Church Women. ECW is involved in a variety of church activities, including the annual rummage sale. Contact Margaret Rehberg or Dawn Butler. Food Pantry. We collect items for the local food bank on the first Sunday of each month. Greeters. Our greeters ensure that visitors and long-term members receive a warm welcome as they arrive at Sunday services. Outreach and Social Justice Committee. This committee's mission is to coordinate efforts on behalf of the needy, both in our local community and in the larger world. It also works, though a variety of efforts, to promote justice in the world. |
