News and Updates
Afternoon Tea April 26 The ladies of St. James are orchestrating a new beginning that evokes feelings of wonder and a reminder to celebrate life. We are hosting an afternoon tea on April 26, 2pm to 4pm, that will honor the women in our lives and around the world. It will be an opportunity to dress up, show off your fine china and your elegant hats, sip fine tea, have a nibble of good food and listen to beautiful music. You might fill your day with new memories and perhaps new friends as well. Most of all, we expect it will be fun! Women, girls, mothers and daughters, sisters and friends—this event is for you. The ticket sales and silent auction will help support building schools in small villages in Afghanistan, Pakistan and all over the world. You must purchase a ticket in advance. Ticket cost for this event is $10 per person. Make sure you bring your ticket to the tea. The number on the ticket will be used for the silent auction. If you are hosting a table contact Claudia Wohlfeil for tickets or Carol in the church office. Move Out/Pitch In Once again, St. James will be "hosting" a container in our front parking lot to facilitate the annual Move Out/Pitch In recycling project that gives college students a place to dispose of their unwanted items, while recycling through the community the food, clothing, furniture and other items that would otherwise be thrown in the landfill. If you can help sort, monitor, carry items from the container to storage for our annual Rummage Sale, please contact Carol Gay at 332-1846 or Sue Johnson at 332-1375. The container will be in our parking lot from April 23 until May 12. Project Sign-Up Available The Buildings and Grounds Committee has posted on a pillar in the Narthex list of those perpetual maintenance and caretaking projects around the church and grounds. You can sign up for the one(s) for which you want to be responsible, and then indicate when you have completed the task. Let Jean Wardwell, Junior Warden, know if you have any questions.
