Every Lord’s day gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving
Didache – from the year 100 CE
Even in the earliest documents of Christianity we have the rhythm of our life described. We gather for corporate worship every Sunday morning.
8am Holy Eucharist – spoken service, a quiet and intimate group who then gather for coffee and conversation.
10am Holy Eucharist – music, chanting, choir, children – all the glorious sounds of our saints at our principal service
If your children get tired of worship with the grownups, babysitters are available during the 10am service for infants and toddlers. Preschool through grade 3 children meet at 9:30 to learn music and learn holy stories of wonder before they join the greater congregation at the exchange of the Peace.
Summer Hours begin June 19 through Labor Day
9am Holy Eucharist followed by Church 101 discussion and learning for all ages
Music - St. James has the great gift of Elena Panchenko as our musician and choir director. Elena shares her time with us and with every student of music who needs an accomplished accompanist, and with the Regional Theater of the Palouse where she works as a rehearsal musician and often appears in starring roles! And we are gifted, too, with committed singers who offer their voices to lead us in worship and lift our hearts beyond the offering of our own gifts of bread, wine and money each week. Choir rehearses each week at 9, and midweek as the choir agrees, especially in preparation for Easter and Christmas. The choir sings most Sundays from mid-September until the Day of Pentecost. The congregation sings every Sunday! Come make a joyful noise!
